Today, Sunday, member of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Khaled Al-Saray, considered the talk about Al-Sudani obtaining a second term to be premature and unpredictable.
Al-Saray said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The talk about the second term will be decided by the ballot boxes, which are still about a year and a half away. Therefore, it seems that the battle in this context came early, and the issue of Al-Sudani obtaining it is premature, and the elections are sufficient to clarify everything.”
He added, “The Iraqi people have great hopes for stability, and they are suspended in the vortex of political conflict, which has begun to be reflected in the street and dominates it, so the data of the next stage will be different.”
He explained that “the Coordination Framework will not abandon serving Iraq and the political process, and there is no concern on the part of the Shiite parties regarding the ambition of all candidates, as it serves the public interest.”
Statements by some forces in Iraq reveal the expansion of the circle of support for Al-Sudani for a second term in the upcoming elections, and the corresponding movement of other forces to prevent Al-Sudani from reaching the position again and preventing his participation in the elections, which indicates a clear division within the political process.
