Today, Tuesday, Al-Fatah coalition member Mahmoud Al-Hayani accused the previous government of suspicions of corruption in the window of selling currency abroad, considering it a heavy-caliber corruption deal.

Al-Hayani said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “Political figures in the previous government were making two hundred thousand dollars for every one million dollars in remittances sent abroad,” noting that “the current government has no knowledge of these remittances and can review the bank’s sales to the Central Bank.”

He added that “these corruption deals caused their owners to become extremely wealthy, as they enabled them to steal millions of dollars through fake and forged transfers,” calling on “the current government to form investigation committees to open the file of transfers in the Central Bank auction in order to hold the forgers and negligent accountable.”

It is worth noting that the Central Bank of Iraq has limited ability to conduct dollar sales transfers due to US control, which causes delays in the disbursement and distribution of salaries, in addition to affecting the economic situation in the country as well.
