Anbar Alliance member Abdullah Ahmed al-Dulaimi revealed on Thursday that the decision to designate Hezbollah and Ansar Allah as terrorist organizations was part of al-Sudani’s efforts to secure a second term.
Al-Dulaimi told the Information Agency that “the Trump administration stipulated that al-Sudani designate national forces opposed to the American presence as terrorist organizations, in an attempt to clear the field of resistance against the occupation. This prompted al-Sudani to take this step to secure a second term.”
He added that “al-Sudani pledged to the American administration to take even bolder steps.”
Al-Dulaimi indicated that “al-Sudani maintains good relations with al-Julani, but these are conducted secretly without the knowledge of the Iraqi Parliament, as part of his commitment to implementing the American administration’s agenda in exchange for a second term.”
