Former MP Jassim Al-Bayati stressed that there are no justifications for postponing the formation of the government cabinet, pointing out that there are some new developments that necessitate the political class moving towards completing the government and finishing this file completely.
Al-Bayati told Al-Maalomah, “The security developments of the past period, including the attacks on security forces in Kirkuk and areas near the Kurdistan Region, necessitate expediting the formation of the cabinet, especially the Ministries of Interior and Defense.”
He added, “The government and the political class in Iraq no longer have any justification for delaying the cabinet formation, especially since there are many motives and factors that necessitate finalizing the vote on the remaining ministerial positions in Al-Zaidi’s cabinet.”
He indicated that “there is a high probability that the cabinet formation will be finalized within the next few days, especially since all circumstances point towards concluding this matter to ensure a fully functioning government.”
