Shafaq News/ Amna Wali, a member of the State of Law coalition, revealed on Saturday the “most fortunate” candidate to assume the position of governor of Baghdad.
Wali told Shafaq News Agency, “Abdul Muttalib Ali Al-Alawi is currently considered the most likely candidate to assume the position of governor of Baghdad, in terms of the capabilities he possesses as he is a specialist in advisory and strategic planning, and a businessman and advisor in the Advisory Committee of the Council of Ministers to follow up the government program.” .
She added, “Al-Alawi is currently considered the candidate of the rule of law for the position of governor of Baghdad, and he is accepted by political parties, as an academic and technocrat, regardless of his political affiliation.”
She stated, “In the coming days, the results of the provincial council elections will be approved, and after approval, Al-Alawi’s nomination for the position of governor of Baghdad will be officially announced.”
It is noteworthy that Al-Alawi, who works as an advisor to the Prime Minister for administration and public policy affairs, had obtained 7,629 votes in the provincial council elections, and is ranked second among the nine seats of the State of Law coalition in the Baghdad Provincial Council.
