US President Donald Trump announced on Friday a permanent suspension of immigration “from all Third World countries,” stressing that the decision will remain in place until the US system recovers.
Trump stated on social media: “I will permanently stop immigration from all Third World countries to allow the American system to fully recover.”
He also threatened to cancel “millions” of approved applications granted under his predecessor Joe Biden, and to “deport anyone who does not provide added value to the United States.”
Trump went on to say that he would end “all federal benefits and subsidies for non-citizens in our country.”
Trump’s decisions come a day after an Afghan man shot and killed two National Guard soldiers in Washington.
