Shafaq News/ A leader in the Coordination Framework revealed, on Thursday, that the issue of “ministerial change” was raised during the “secret” session in which Parliament hosted Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani yesterday, stressing that this change has become useless.
MP Amer Al-Fayez told Shafaq News Agency that the parliament session held yesterday, Wednesday, addressed the issue of ministerial change in the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
Al-Fayez explained that the Prime Minister responded during the session that the current government is a coalition government, and that no ministerial change can be implemented without the agreement of the political blocs.
Al-Fayez pointed out that the majority of political blocs expressed their dissatisfaction with the idea of ministerial change, considering that the remaining time of the government’s term does not allow for making meaningful changes.
He added that the remaining period requires focusing on finding alternatives and providing services, as the new minister cannot provide any tangible services in this short period.
Al-Fayez confirmed that the idea of a ministerial change has been officially cancelled, and that the remaining period of the government’s life is not enough to make any ministerial changes.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Iraqi parliament hosted Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, along with three of his ministers, in a “secret” session, which witnessed the discussion of a number of security and economic issues.
The Prime Minister discussed developments in the region, especially after the events of October 7, 2023, stressing the government’s measures to confront security challenges, including securing the borders and deploying military units.
Al-Sudani also presented the reasons for amending the Federal Budget Law, and reviewed the implementation rates of the government program and its priorities.
