Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi confirmed, on Monday, that the exchange document for the office of the caretaker Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, which indicates the disbursement of 70 billion to furnish the office, is a legal violation, indicating that Al-Kazemi may face seven years in prison.
Al-Tamimi said in a statement to “Al-Maalouma”, “It was stated in Article 14 of the Financial Support Law for Food Security and Development 2 of 2022 that the Financial Supervision Bureau is the body that monitors and submits a quarterly report on spending in accordance with this law to the House of Representatives.”
He added, “There is no permit for this exchange, neither in the articles that indicated the exchange citizen nor in the tables attached to this law,” noting that “any deputy can move or refer his evidence to the Court of Investigation or Integrity.”
Al-Tamimi pointed out that “the article that applies to the act is 340 of the Penal Code, and the penalty is 7 years in prison, and it is a waste of public money.”
Today, Al-Kazemi’s office issued a statement in response to what was published by Representative Mustafa Sanad regarding spending 70 billion dinars on furnishing the office, as the statement acknowledged allocating 35 billion dinars to the office within the allocations of the Food Security Law.
