Former Basra Governor, Judge Wael Abdul Latif, confirmed on Wednesday that Kuwait has encroached on Iraq’s land borders in seven stages.
Abdul Latif said in a speech during a conference supporting the Federal Court’s decision to invalidate the Khor Abdullah agreement, followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, that “successive Iraqi governments did not respond to the calls of specialists regarding Iraq’s water rights and Kuwait’s encroachments on the country’s wealth.”
He stressed that “Kuwait continues to steal oil and gas from Iraqi border fields.”
He added that documents prove that Khor Abdullah has nothing to do with UN resolutions to demarcate the border.
