Abadi’s office commented on the rejection of the International Fund for the federal budget

The Prime Minister’s Office denied the news that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) rejected the federal budget for 2018 because it is not in line with the agreement signed between it and Iraq.
“The financial budget for 2018 was approved in accordance with the legal contexts between the institutions of the Iraqi state of the government and parliament and all the material contained in it does not contradict with the conditions of the International Monetary Fund.”
He explained that the news that the IMF refused to budget “incorrect”, stressing that the Iraqi government has not received any official response from the Fund to reject the budget.
