An informed source reported on Sunday that a US military convoy arrived at the Harir base near Erbil from Syria, amid tight security measures and intense drone flights.
A source told Al-Maalouma, “A US military convoy consisting of armored vehicles and trucks loaded with iron containers entered the Harir Air Base near Erbil in the early hours of the morning, amid an unprecedented security alert.”
He added, “The nature of the cargo inside the containers is unknown, but the extensive security measures and the presence of drones accompanying the convoy’s movements indicate the possibility that it contains advanced or effective military equipment that requires special security.”
He continued, “The US authorities closed all entrances to the base immediately after the convoy entered, maintaining a state of alert in the vicinity, and continuing to fly drones over the area.”
He pointed out that “security movements confirm a state of high alert within the base, with no official clarification regarding the nature of the shipment or its military objectives.”
It is noteworthy that the Harir base is the second most important American base in Iraq after Ain al-Assad, and houses hundreds of American soldiers, in addition to heavy equipment and aircraft shelters.
