US Representative Ilhan Omar called for the immediate removal of President Donald Trump, describing him as a “crazy, unbalanced man,” following his threats to destroy Iranian infrastructure and return Iran to the “Stone Age.” Omar wrote in a post on the X platform: “This is unacceptable. The 25th Amendment to the US Constitution must be invoked. Impeachment and removal… This crazy, unbalanced man must be removed from office.”
It should be noted that the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution allows for the removal of the president from office if he is found to be physically or mentally incapable of performing his duties, implicitly suggesting from Omar that Trump has lost his mental fitness to lead the country.
This attack comes in response to a post by Trump on the Truth Social platform in which he threatened Iran, demanding that it open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, hinting at dire military consequences in case of non-compliance. Trump wrote in a remarkably provocative manner: “Open the Strait, you lunatics, or you will live in hell,” hinting that Tuesday would witness what he described as “Power Plant Day and Bridge Day” in Iran, in an explicit reference to anticipated military strikes targeting vital Iranian infrastructure.
The White House renewed its threat to inflict total destruction on Iran and return it to the “Stone Age” if Tehran fails to reach an agreement with the United States before the deadline.
There has been no official response yet from the Iranian side to this latest threat, while Tehran has consistently emphasized that any American aggression will be met with a decisive and comprehensive response that protects the country’s sovereignty and the interests of its people.
