He continued, “Of course we had warned us immediately after we received the news of the attack, the Iraqi military leaders to take the necessary precautions, and we have not received any human losses on the Iraqi side, and we have not officially received the losses on the side of the coalition forces.”

He pointed out that “the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, Adel Abdul Mahdi, has been following developments since the beginning of the attack and until this hour and is making the necessary internal and external contacts in an attempt to contain the situation and not engage in an open war, Iraq and the region will be among the first victims.”

He concluded by saying that “Iraq rejects any violation of its sovereignty and attacks on its lands, because the government continues its efforts to prevent escalation and respect for all of the sovereignty of Iraq and not to overlook it and not to expose its people to danger.” He called on everyone to exercise restraint, give priority to the language of reason, adhere to international covenants, respect the Iraqi state and a decision.
