A representative reveals a funding disaster affecting water resources: Only 30% of the budget has been spent.

MP Aref Al-Hamami revealed on Monday that the Ministry of Water Resources has only received 30% of its annual budget, which has caused significant disruption in the implementation of its vital projects, especially those related to drilling rigs and fuel provision.
Al-Hamami told Al-Maalouma, “The total budget allocated to the Ministry of Water Resources exceeds 370 billion dinars, while what it has actually received does not exceed 69 billion, or only 30%.”
He added, “This financial deficit has had a direct impact on the ministry’s tasks, as it owns more than 44 large drilling rigs, but the number of actually operating drilling rigs is very limited, due to weak funding and a shortage of fuel to operate the machinery and carry out the required tasks.”
Al-Hamami pointed out that “the scarcity of financial allocations allocated to the ministry, despite its strategic importance in managing the water file and lining streams and rivers, raises many question marks,” stressing “the need to reconsider the amount of money spent in a way that is consistent with the importance of this ministry and its formations in all governorates.”
