Political analyst Mohammed Ali Al-Hakim believes that the speed of forming the government depends on the ongoing regional tensions and the scenario that will unfold in the next phase.

Al-Hakim told Al-Maalouma, “There are political forces within the coordination framework who believe that Al-Sudani crossed red lines during his three-year term, and negotiations between the pillars of the framework are proceeding at full speed to bring in a new figure, far removed from Al-Sudani.”

He added that “the possibility of a return to war between Iran and America or (Israel) may push Iraqi political forces to exploit this issue to extract internal concessions or rearrange the balances.”

He explained that “regional concerns may cause some Iraqi forces to delay finalizing the formation of the new government and wait for the increasingly unclear situation to become clearer, especially given the deeper disagreements within the coordinating framework whose mandate Sudani is seeking to renew, while most of the framework’s forces oppose this renewal, which has become virtually nonexistent.”
