Political analyst Qasim Muhammad al-Tamimi believes that foreign interference in Iraq’s internal affairs will not alter the political equation, noting that the coordination framework is proceeding with its efforts to form a new government without delay.
Al-Tamimi told Al-Maalouma, “Based on current data, the new government will not be delayed much longer, especially given the insistence of various parties within the coordination framework on expediting the selection of the new prime minister.” He
added, “The US and regional powers have influence in Iraq, and their interference in internal affairs cannot be ignored. However, the formation of the government will be free from external influences, as the framework has focused its attention on the political process itself, not on external factors.” He explained
that “America’s attempt to impose its will on Iraq will not change the political equation. The coordination framework is pursuing a one-way path, ignoring most interference and continuing to concentrate on forming a new government for Iraq.”
