Today, Monday, a member of the Hasm Alliance, Dhari Al-Dulaimi, revealed a political agreement to include the clause of electing a new Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Parliament’s agenda next week.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma, “A political agreement concluded yesterday resulted in an emphasis on including the clause of electing a new president of the Council in one of next week’s sessions.”
He added, “The candidate for the lead, Representative Shaalan Al-Karim, has become out of the equation, because the competition will be limited to Representatives Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and Salem Al-Issawi,” noting that “Al-Issawi’s chances of winning the position are closer than Al-Mashhadani.”
It is noteworthy that the Federal Court rejected Suit No. 22 Federal 2024, filed by Representatives Hait Al-Halbousi and Ahmed Mazhar Al-Jubouri, to cancel Session No. 1 of the third legislative year, the first legislative term, held on January 13, 2024, and allocated to electing a new president of the Council.
