Today, Thursday, a member of the House of Representatives, Karim Aliwi, held the Presidency of the House of Representatives, represented by Muhammad al-Halbousi, responsible for not holding an emergency parliamentary session regarding the dollar price crisis, while he called on the presidency to take a national stance to recover the economic situation the country is going through.
Aliwi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “Many of the crises that the Iraqi people experienced were not paid attention by the House of Representatives, and the presidency did not respond to many parliamentary requests.”
He added, “Among the important events that necessitated the necessity of an emergency parliamentary session, we submitted, along with many deputies, a request to hold a session related to what happened recently in the city of Nasiriyah in Dhi Qar Governorate, but there was no response.”
The member of the House of Representatives stated, “Iraq is now going through a very dangerous economic turning point, which prompts us to demand an emergency session to discuss the file of dollar exchange rates and come up with a clear result to solve the crisis,” blaming “the parliament presidency for not holding an emergency session to discuss the repercussions of the rise of the US dollar and the decline of the dinar.” .
Olewi called on the presidency to “take a national stance to hold a parliamentary session, in order to recover the economic situation from the crisis that the country is suffering from.”
Yesterday, Wednesday, many members of Parliament submitted a request to the Presidency of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi. To hold an emergency parliamentary session to study the repercussions of the rise in dollar exchange rates in the local markets and try to reach realistic solutions with the executive authorities.
