{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Director of the Office of Financial Supervision {Previous}, Salah Nouri, expected a delay in paying salaries for the current month of October.
“The salaries will be delayed as the previous month, and for the same reasons and controversy between the House of Representatives and the Ministry of Finance, they did not specify a time, but the personal opinion before the end of the month,” Nuri told Al-Furat News.
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, revealed the day before Monday, the date for the salaries to be delivered for the month of October.
“The salaries will not be delayed, as happened last month, and our expectations are that they will be distributed in the last two days of the month,” Cougar told Al-Furat News, stressing that “the Iraqi street and the situation cannot bear a repetition of the same scenario that occurred last September in the delay in paying the salary.”
Cougar added, “The House of Representatives in all cases will vote on the internal borrowing law and legislate it, but it is not in this form that was sent by the government,” noting that “the House of Representatives and the legislation of the law have nothing to do with salaries and that mortgaging the salaries of employees in the House of Representatives is incorrect.”
He pointed out that “the numbers mentioned in the text are fictitious, as they amount to 40 trillion dinars, and this is greatly exaggerated.”
It is noteworthy that Parliamentary Finance Reporter Ahmed Al-Saffar said earlier, “The House of Representatives is determined to vote on the internal borrowing law, which is included in the reform paper, which will secure the salaries of employees until the end of the year.”
