On Monday, the independent politician close to the coordination framework, Saad al-Muttalbi, accused Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi of using all his powers and adapting them in order to remain in his position, indicating that al-Halbousi was awaiting dismissal during the approval of the budget.
Al-Muttalbi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “A heavy-caliber political surprise will be present during the approval of the federal budget, which is to raise the issue of replacing the position of Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi.”
He added, “Al-Halbousi is now subjugating all powers and influence in order to exploit them to control the presidential seat for as long as possible and win over some political forces.”
He pointed out that “the Sunni opposition front to keep Al-Halbousi in office has reached its climax, and it is most likely to dismiss him and find a replacement for him to head Parliament.”
A member of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Ali Al-Fatlawi, had confirmed the existence of a tribal and partisan rejection of the continuation of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi in power after he was alone in taking decisions, indicating that the coordination framework is with the majority in the event that it decides to remove Al-Halbousi from power.
Al-Fatlawi told Al-Maalouma, “Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi began to decline because of the wrong system that he followed and used with the Anbari public, as he was unable to balance and agree with the clans in that province.”
