Financial expert Ahmed Brihi assured, on Tuesday, that Iraq will not benefit from the International Fund loan this year if it is borrowed from the fund, indicating that the fund does not give five billion but less than three billion in the form of payments.
Brihi said, “My experience, by participating in previous negotiations to request the loan from the International Fund, the fund will not grant $ 5 billion to any country according to its known procedures, but rather can give less than three billion dollars.” Indicating that “the fund’s loans were not granted in the form of One payment, only in batches. ”
He added that “Iraq, if a loan is requested from the fund, will not be able to benefit and obtain it during this year because it will drain a long time from the discussions between the government ministry and the government and the management of the international fund. Iraq will not be able to obtain the first payment for this year and it can be obtained at the beginning of 2021.”
