A delegation from the U.S. State Department to the Kurdistan region which is expected to discuss the dispute between Baghdad and Erbil on the file of oil.

According to a source familiar with: “The delegation from the U.S. State Department, headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary Brett Makwerk arrived in Arbil, which is likely to meet the President of the provincial government Barzani.” Source speculated that “the U.S. delegation looking issue of contention oil between Kurdistan and the federal government.”

Relations between the province and the center of some tension, especially after the Kurdistan region to export oil through Turkey without the approval of the central government.
