A security source in Anbar province revealed on Tuesday that a military convoy loaded with more than 50 American Hummer vehicles entered the Ain al-Assad base coming from Baghdad.
The source told Al-Maalouma news agency, “A large American convoy loaded with military vehicles entered the Ain al-Assad base in the al-Baghdadi area of Hit district, west of Anbar, amid the flight of American warplanes to protect the convoy for fear of any armed attack.”
The source added, “The current period has witnessed suspicious movements of American forces in the western Anbar desert towards Haditha district, without knowing further details about the resumption of ground reconnaissance operations after a long hiatus.”
He pointed out that “American forces have intensified security fortifications around the Ain al-Assad base building for precautionary reasons for fear of being exposed to missile attacks. The base has also witnessed rotations of American forces without the withdrawal of any soldiers.”
