A member of the parliamentary Finance Committee, Najiba Najib called the (Shora Council) to speed sending the new banking law in order to pass it in the House of Representatives.

MP, of the Kurdistan Alliance said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that the new law of the banks and the CBI supports the independence of the bank and devotes separate administration for the capital of all government and private banks, noting that the law will also allow the banks to direct investment and to engage in other commercial activities after that was forbidden.

She noted that this process comes to support all banks to take their role in economic development as well as the development of the Iraqi financial sector in general.

She said the last meeting with specialists held in Amman discussed all of these things and it was reached to a unified vision on the need to pass this law as soon as possible for its importance at this stage that Iraq is going through.

The Central Bank of Iraqi had raised a new banking bill to both Shora council and House of Representatives last year for discussion and approval
