Jassim Mohammed Jaafar, a leading figure in the State of Law Coalition, affirmed on Saturday that the Coordination Framework still has ample time to select its candidate for prime minister, emphasizing its ability to reach an agreement within the constitutional timeframe.
Jaafar told the Information Agency, “The Coordination Framework has plenty of time to finalize its leaders’ consensus on nominating the next prime minister, unlike the Sunni and Kurdish blocs.” He explained that “the media focus on the Coordination Framework stems from the importance of this position in leading the country through the next phase.”
He added, “The Coordination Framework is not suffering from a political deadlock or deep conflict, as is the case within the Sunni and Kurdish blocs, and it is capable of agreeing on a candidate for the next prime minister within the constitutional timeframe.”
It is worth noting that the inaugural session of the new parliament is scheduled to be held within the next two days, amidst a lack of positive indications regarding the Sunni and Kurdish blocs reaching an agreement on their candidates for the positions of Speaker of Parliament and President of the Republic.
