The coordinating framework, which brings together Shiite political forces, intends to hold a meeting this Saturday evening at the office of the leader of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, in order to decide on the selection of the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.

An official source within the framework told Shafaq News Agency that “the leaders of the coordination framework will hold an important meeting in Hakim’s office in order to choose the first deputy speaker of parliament, which is the share of the Shiite component, and this position requires (15) points, i.e. (15) parliamentary seats.”

The source, who asked not to be named, said that “there are three names officially nominated for this position by the Coordination Framework forces, namely: Adnan Faihan from Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Mohsen al-Mandalawi from the Asas Alliance and the forces supporting it, and Ahmed al-Asadi from the Reconstruction and Development Coalition.”

He added that “the meeting of the Coordination Framework will decide on the selection of one of these names by agreeing on it unanimously so that the candidate represents all the forces of the Coordination Framework, and until now it is not known which name will be chosen,” indicating that “the three names have equal chances, and the meeting of Hakim’s office will come out with an agreement and unanimity on one of those names.”

So far, the coordinating framework, which includes Shiite political forces, has failed to agree on naming the prime minister and forming the new government, and it confirms in official positions the continuation of dialogues and discussions between all political parties regarding the upcoming national entitlements.
