The coordination framework denies the existence of a political deadlock regarding the next prime ministershipThe Information/Baghdad –
On Monday, Uday Abdul-Hadi, a member of the Coordination Framework, denied any political deadlock in reaching a consensus on a candidate for the next prime minister.
Speaking to Al-Maalouma, Abdul-Hadi stated, “The meetings of the Coordination Framework forces are ongoing, and there is a high degree of flexibility among its members in addressing the challenges of the next phase, particularly regarding the nomination of a consensus candidate for the premiership.” He emphasized that “talk of a political impasse is inaccurate.”
He added that “the meetings are not solely focused on reaching a consensus on a prime minister, but also extend to discussing the government program, the nature of the partnership between the Framework forces and other political forces, as well as addressing other issues related to security, the economy, finance, and foreign relations.”
Abdul-Hadi explained that “all indications unequivocally point to the fact that the coalition forces will present their candidate for the next prime minister immediately after the election of the president, in accordance with constitutional procedures.” He added that “the parliament will hold its first session at the end of this month, which necessitates that the Sunni forces resolve the issue of the speakership by presenting a candidate for a vote within the parliament.”
