The head of the coordinating body for the popular movement for the Belt and Road, Hussein Al-Karawi, confirmed on Tuesday that the American side supports renewing the mandate for Al-Sudani after he worked to achieve and protect the interests of the American administration inside Iraq.
Al-Karawi told Al-Maalouma, “America is looking for its interests and the interests of its allies in the region and ensuring their achievement by imposing dictates on Iraq and the political class in order to achieve Washington’s goals.”
He added that “the United States seeks to ensure the realization of all projects that serve the Zionist entity through Iraq, especially since the American administration has a set of projects and interests that are being worked on.”
He explained that “Al-Sudani went towards granting many projects to the American side and achieved for the United States what it wanted in terms of interests, especially with regard to projects in the Samawah desert, the Basra-Aqaba pipeline, oil fields, and opening the doors for oil companies to obtain investments and contracts in the oil sector.”
He pointed out that “al-Sudani is considered the American hand that serves Washington’s interests, and therefore the Trump administration and its envoy Savaya support renewing al-Sudani’s term once again.”
