The Federal Supreme Court announced today, Sunday, the ratification of the final results of the general elections for membership in the House of Representatives. A statement from the court’s media center stated that “the Federal Supreme Court held its closed session today, Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the presence of its president, Judge Munther Ibrahim Hussein, and all its members, to review the final results of the general elections for membership in the Iraqi House of Representatives for the year 2025 (sixth session), which were sent by the Independent High Electoral Commission in accordance with its letter No. (Kh/25 R.M/79) dated December 8, 2025.”
The statement added, “The court, upon review and deliberation, found that the general voting process for the elections of members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives (sixth electoral session) had met its constitutional and legal requirements and there was nothing that would invalidate it. Based on the provisions of paragraph (seventh) of Article (93) of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005, the Supreme Federal Court decided to ratify the final results of the general elections for membership of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the year 2025 / sixth electoral session for the winners whose names are mentioned in the list attached to the letter of the Independent High Electoral Commission.”
He also noted that “the court also decided to notify the three authorities of the decision to ratify the final results of the general elections for membership in the Iraqi House of Representatives for the year 2025, which was taken in this session.”
He also confirmed that “the decision was issued under number (235/Federal/2025) on 14/12/2025 by agreement and is binding on all authorities based on the provisions of Articles (93) Seventh and (94) of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq for the year 2005 and Articles (4) Seventh and 5 (Second) of the Federal Supreme Court Law No. (30) of the year 2005 amended by Law No. (25) of the year 2021.”
