The head of the media team at the Electoral Commission, Imad Jamil, confirmed on Saturday that the Federal Court’s ratification of the results of the House of Representatives elections will end the commission’s work related to these elections, noting that preparations for the constitutional entitlements will begin immediately after the official announcement of the results.
Jamil told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the Electoral Commission has completed its work in full regarding the resolution of appeals and complaints submitted to it, and the final results have been submitted to the Federal Court for ratification,” expecting that “the court’s decision will be announced within the next two days.”
He added that “after the Federal Court approves the results, the work of the Electoral Commission is considered complete with regard to the House of Representatives elections, and the concerned authorities will begin preparing for the constitutional entitlements immediately after the approval.”
It is worth noting that the names of the approved winners will be submitted to the Presidency, which will then issue a summons for the House of Representatives to convene its sixth session within a period not exceeding 15 days.
