Omar Al-Samarrai, a member of the National Wisdom Movement, revealed today that there are four well-known candidates for the position of Prime Minister, all of whom hold official positions within Iraqi state institutions, stressing that the selection process is subject to unified criteria without exception.
Al-Samarrai told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the four names nominated for the premiership are known within political circles, and there are ongoing meetings and serious discussions to set the necessary conditions for choosing one of them,” explaining that “among the most prominent of these conditions is that the candidate possesses a clear economic vision and an implementable plan, in addition to balanced foreign relations that serve Iraq’s interests.”
He added, “There is no discrimination or exception for one candidate over another, as all the established criteria apply to everyone.” He pointed out that “the coordination framework seeks to achieve greater success in the next government compared to the previous one, by choosing a figure capable of managing the next phase with its economic and political challenges.”
He pointed out that “whoever assumes the position of Speaker of Parliament from within the Sunni bloc will relinquish his ministerial share, within the framework of existing political understandings.”
The Iraqi public is awaiting the outcome of the final agreements, which they hope will lead to the formation of a government capable of addressing crises and achieving greater stability and development in the coming period.
