A politician asks - What does Qatar have to do with the political balance in the formation of the new governmentInformation/Anbar…
On Thursday, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, a member of the United Anbar Alliance, revealed that Mohammed Al-Halbousi, head of the Progress Alliance, and Khamis Al-Khanjar, former head of the Sovereignty Alliance, discussed with the Qatari government the issue of political balance in the formation of the new government, questioning why Doha had entered into the internal Iraqi political affairs.

Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “discussing an internal Iraqi matter with the State of Qatar by figures who do not possess any official status has raised many questions, especially regarding the negative role played by some countries in interfering in Iraqi affairs.”

He added that “Al-Halbousi and Al-Khanjar do not represent the central government and do not hold any position that authorizes them to discuss internal political issues with another country,” stressing that “Qatar is not concerned with the issue of balances or political agreements related to the formation of the next government.”

Al-Dulaimi stated that “the information indicates the existence of unannounced understandings or agreements that allow for foreign interference in the Iraqi file, which is completely unacceptable,” calling on the competent authorities to “hold Al-Halbousi and Al-Khanjar legally accountable for what he considered an overreach of authority and the commission of violations during their visit to Doha.”

He asserted that “Qatar may have authorized Halbousi and Khanjar to safeguard its interests within Iraq, which raises genuine concerns about the extent of foreign interference in the current political phase.”
