Integrity: More than (17) million dollars recovered from corruption proceeds

The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Monday that it had managed to recover $17,438,620 million in corruption proceeds during the past period.
The commission stated in a statement received by Al-Maalomah Agency that “the recovery process was carried out through coordination with the judicial and regulatory authorities and communication with the relevant international bodies, in accordance with the applicable agreements and laws.”
She added that “the Recovery Department has expanded its cooperation with the Global Operations Network of Law Enforcement Authorities in order to support the exchange of information related to corruption, laundered funds, and fugitives, to expedite international follow-up procedures and the recovery of funds.”
She noted the opening of a secure window on the (goAML) platform of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Office, with the aim of enhancing the ability to track suspicious money movements outside Iraq and facilitating international cooperation in financial cases related to corruption.
