MP Arif Abdul Jalil called on the incoming government on Monday to review all agreements concluded by the previous administration, stressing the need to ensure their alignment with the supreme national interest.
Abdul Jalil told the Information Agency that “the agreements concluded by the previous government require careful review to guarantee that they do not harm national sovereignty or the interests of the people,” adding that the next phase demands greater transparency in dealing with economic and political matters.
He added that “the next government bears a great responsibility to reassess these agreements in a way that serves Iraq and strengthens its political and economic independence,” stressing that “any agreement that does not serve the national interest must be reviewed or amended.”
