The “Reconstruction and Development” coalition affirmed its commitment to its candidate, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, for the premiership of the next government, during a meeting held on Tuesday.
The coalition said in a statement, received by Shafaq News Agency, that the meeting discussed the ongoing political and security developments and the dialogues between the various political forces, stressing the commitment to the constitutional timelines for forming the next government.
The statement stressed the importance of choosing a political, economic and security program capable of addressing the major challenges facing Iraq, in line with the people’s aspirations for reconstruction, development and prosperity.
The Reconstruction and Development Coalition explained that its support for Al-Sudani is based on his previous successful experience in leading the executive authority, in addition to the fact that the coalition represents the largest bloc within the coordination framework and has the largest parliamentary representation.
