Political observer Sabah Al-Akeeli ruled out on Monday that the Coordination Framework would give its approval for a second term for Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, attributing this to several negative observations that the Framework recorded regarding Al-Sudani’s performance during his term as head of government, especially his taking important decisions and positions without referring to the Framework as had been previously agreed upon.
Al-Akeeli told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the current data clearly indicates that Al-Sudani will not get a second term,” attributing this to “several negative observations recorded by the framework on Al-Sudani’s performance during his term as head of government, especially his taking important decisions and positions without referring to the framework as had been previously agreed upon.”
He added that “the coordination framework today is more cohesive and stronger, and has set clear criteria for selecting the next prime minister, which makes the nomination process smoother and free of complications.”
Al-Akeeli clarified that “the names circulating in the media regarding the next prime minister are merely speculation,” emphasizing that “the final decision will be issued from within the coordinating framework according to the majority voting mechanism.”
