The head of the political body of the National Tribal Movement, Abdul Rahman Al-Jazaeri, confirmed that “the government of Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani witnessed clear failures in key files whose results the public was awaiting, most notably the file of services and economic reforms, as well as the decline in the paths of combating corruption.

Al-Jazairi told Al-Maalouma that “the Arab Depth project adopted by the government has effectively ended, and the magic has backfired on the magician after the regional conflict of interests and its ineffectiveness in strengthening Iraq’s political position were exposed.”

He added that “the criteria for choosing the prime minister according to the current balances do not apply to Al-Sudani, especially after he lost the support of forces that were counting on the reconstruction and development project, which ‘lost the battle for the premiership before the consultations officially began.’”

He stressed that reshuffling the three presidencies “means bringing Iraq into a dangerous Arab project that could cause the country to lose its political independence.”

Regarding the ongoing negotiations, Al-Jazaeri revealed that “the Kurdish side informed the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, that the position of President of the Republic is a red line,” indicating that the Kurdish component is holding fast to its constitutional entitlement and will not accept any change in the norms that have governed the political process since 2005.

Amid escalating criticism and hardening stances from influential forces, the political landscape appears poised for a new round of complex bargaining. The identity of the next prime minister remains contingent on agreements yet to be reached, foreshadowing even greater uncertainty in the government formation process.
