A source told Al-Maalomah - The framework has put the Sudanese out of the race for a second termInformation/Baghdad…
A political source within the coordination framework confirmed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s chances of obtaining a second term have significantly decreased, due to a general trend among the majority of the framework’s leaders not to renew his term.

The source, who preferred not to reveal his name, told Al-Maalomah that “two political figures who enjoy wide acceptance within the framework will be the most likely to compete for the position of the next prime minister.”

He added that “the majority of the framework’s leaders are inclined not to renew Al-Sudani’s term, even though he will be among the names that will be presented to the committee responsible for selecting the candidate for prime minister, which was recently formed within the framework.”

He noted that “the committee will interview all candidates according to specific professional and national standards,” expecting that “about ten names will officially submit their candidacy for the premiership, but two figures with broad political acceptance will compete strongly for the position.”

The coordinating framework issued a statement announcing the formation of two leadership committees. The first committee will address national entitlements and develop a unified vision for the requirements of state administration, while the second will be responsible for interviewing candidates for the position of Prime Minister according to professional and national criteria.
