Political observer Sabah Al-Akeeli confirmed on Wednesday that the leaders of the Coordination Framework are seeking to choose a consensus candidate who does not belong to any party to assume the position of Prime Minister in the next stage, noting that there are almost certain leaks about two figures who have the necessary qualifications and are accepted within the framework, without either of them having a political party.
Al-Akeeli told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the political forces within the framework agree on accelerating the formation of the government and choosing a compromise candidate within the constitutional timeframe.”
He pointed out that “the selection process will be carried out through the committee appointed by the leaders of the framework, and the candidate will be presented to them later for approval.”
He pointed out that “the leaders of the framework set specific conditions for the candidate for the position of Prime Minister, including not running for a second term and not founding a party during his term in office, to avoid a repeat of what happened in the Sudanese government, in addition to stipulating that the next government program be under the supervision of the coordinating framework.”
