The Federal Election Commission announced on Sunday that the counting of the remaining votes in the polling stations had been completed, and predicted that the results would be announced either today or tomorrow, Monday.
The spokesperson for the commission, Jumana Al-Ghalai, stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that “the commission has finalized the remaining stations and their votes have been counted, and all results came in 100% agreement with the manual counting and sorting.”
Al-Ghalai added that “the commission began today to count the seats and the women’s and minorities’ quota seats, and the provincial electoral offices have begun to provide the alliances, parties and candidates with the results tapes,” predicting that the final results will be announced “today or tomorrow.”
She explained that “after the final results are announced by a decision of the Board of Commissioners, the Commission will open the door for appeals for three days starting from the day after publication on the Commission’s official website.”
