Former member of the parliamentary finance committee, Mohammed Nouri, called on the next government on Wednesday to take control of the dollar issue, which has exhausted the Iraqi economy over the past years as a result of unstable financial policies.
Nouri told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the dollar issue is one of the most prominent challenges facing the Iraqi economy, as it has led to higher prices and a decline in the purchasing power of citizens,” noting that “the next government is required to put in place radical solutions to control the market and prevent speculation.”
He added that “the new parliament must prioritize this issue by enacting laws that support monetary policy and ensure exchange rate stability to protect the national economy,” stressing that “continued chaos regarding the dollar will lead to further economic and social crises.”
