MP Mustafa Khalil accused the government on Tuesday of delaying sending the budget schedules to the House of Representatives during the past period, indicating that this delay was deliberate and aimed at achieving electoral gains.
Khalil told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the government deliberately withheld the budget schedules from Parliament, despite repeated demands, in order to use them as an electoral pressure tactic,” adding that “this behavior has harmed the legislative process and disrupted the work of the relevant committees.”
He added that “the next parliament is required to review this file and hold accountable those responsible for the delays, given their direct impact on project implementation and the fair distribution of funds among the provinces.”
