MP: Vodafone’s fourth license deal boosts state treasury and supports pension fund

Member of the Parliamentary Communications Committee, MP Ghassan Al-Eidani, confirmed today, Monday, that the contract concluded by the Ministry of Communications with Vodafone Telecommunications Company within the fourth license will have a tangible financial return for the state treasury in addition to supporting the National Retirement Fund.
Al-Eidani told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the Communications Committee followed all stages of signing the contract closely, including the contract terms and ensuring that the ministry receives 51% of the profits.”
He added that “the contract represents a positive step towards transforming the telecommunications sector into a national sector and falls under the fourth license, whereby the Ministry of Communications will benefit from 51% of the profits, which will support the national treasury and provide additional funding for the National Pension Fund.”
