President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed Iraq’s keenness to expand cooperation with Croatia and European Union countries, noting that Iraq is witnessing security, political, and social stability.
A statement issued by the Presidency’s Media Department, received by Al-Sabah, stated that “the President of the Republic received yesterday, Saturday, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Kordan Krilić Radman, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, bilateral relations between Iraq and Croatia were discussed, as well as ways to enhance joint cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples. The President of the Republic stressed the importance of continuing communication and exchange of visits between officials in the two countries, and joint work to enhance investment opportunities and comprehensive development.”
The President of the Republic also affirmed Iraq’s keenness to expand cooperation with Croatia and the European Union countries, noting that Iraq is witnessing security, political, and social stability and is about to hold new parliamentary elections that will enshrine the democratic approach and consolidate the foundations of the political process and the peaceful transfer of power.
For his part, the Croatian Foreign Minister praised Iraq’s supportive stances for regional and international stability, expressing his country’s desire to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly in investment, energy, education, and exchange.
