Hussein al-Karawi, head of the Coordination Body for the Popular Movement for the Belt and Road Initiative, confirmed on Monday that al-Sudani is seeking to control parliament and reach a second term, noting that both the American and Zionist sides are providing support and want this figure to remain in power after he signed projects that serve the Zionists. -Karawi told Al-Maalouma, “Al-Sudani and his partners are trying to control parliament in the next session and achieve a two-thirds quorum within the council in order to achieve his goal in electing the president of the republic and thus appointing the parliament speaker as well as the prime minister.”
He added, “Al-Sudani’s attempt to remain in power for a second term, in addition to the most prominent goal of controlling two-thirds of parliament, is supported by some political parties working in secret to support this figure.”
He explained that “Al-Sudani exploited state resources in his election campaign and position to achieve his goals, and continues to work with his allies in secret to secure support for a second term. In addition, the American side and the Zionist entity desire him to remain in power, especially since there are projects that serve that entity that al-Sudani has signed.”
