Ministry of Planning - Inflation rate rises slightly in September but annual rate continues to declineThe Ministry of Planning announced, on Sunday, a slight increase in the inflation rate during the month of September, while indicating that the annual inflation rate continues to decline, as the ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, told the official agency, “The inflation rate witnessed a slight increase during the month of September, by (0.2%) compared to the previous month of August,” indicating that “the annual inflation during the month of September decreased by (0.3%) compared to the same month of last year 2024.”

Al-Hindawi added, “The prices of the food and non-alcoholic beverages section recorded a decrease of (0.2%) during the month of September, affected by a decrease in the prices of fish by (5.5%), meat by (0.7%), and bread and grains, whose prices decreased by (0.2%).” He pointed out that “five other sections recorded a decrease in their prices during the month of September, namely the clothing and footwear section, whose prices decreased by (0.8%), and the prices of the household equipment and supplies, communications, and hotels sections recorded a decrease of (0.1%) for each of them, and the entertainment and culture section decreased by (0.3%), while the housing section recorded an increase of (0.9%), with three other sections whose prices increased, namely the tobacco section, which increased by (0.2%), the health section, which increased by (0.4%), and the miscellaneous goods and services section increased by (2.2%), and the education and transportation sections maintained the same rates recorded during the previous month of August.”
