Is Sudan’s chance to renew his term over?

Information/Report…
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani faces a wave of mounting criticism from the Coordination Framework, amid growing popular and political discontent with his policies, which are perceived as a departure from the framework’s fundamental principles, particularly with regard to Iraq’s foreign policy and its stance on regional issues, most notably the Palestinian issue.
Al-Sudani is accused of pursuing a path that runs counter to the so-called “Shiite consensus,” through his rapprochement with the United States and a number of parties accused of normalizing relations with the Zionist entity. This has raised significant reservations among influential domestic parties and contributed to a significant decline in his popularity, weakening his chances of running for a second term after the upcoming elections.
*Moving away from the framework and declining political support
Former MP Hassan Faddam confirmed to Al-Maalouma News Agency that Al-Sudani is “no longer in the Coordination Framework’s calculations” as a potential candidate for prime minister in the next phase.
Faddam explained that “the intensity of the discourse within the framework toward al-Sudani has escalated, especially in light of his clear departure from the coalition’s orientations since his election campaign,” noting that “the framework no longer considers him the appropriate figure to represent it or maintain the unity of its factions.”
*Controversial foreign movements
For his part, Ibrahim al-Sakini, a member of the State of Law Coalition, criticized the prime minister, accusing him of seeking to renew his term through political measures that are unpopular with the public and politically, including his rapprochement with the US administration and some parties accused of normalizing relations with the Zionist entity.
Al-Sakini told Al-Maalouma that “Al-Sudani is working to strengthen his chances of remaining in office by including figures from the former regime on the electoral lists, in addition to adopting policies aimed at gaining Washington’s support.”
He added, “Such moves will not succeed in light of the growing popular rejection of his performance and the growing reservations about him within the Coordination Framework.”
It is worth noting that the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for next month, are taking place amid a charged political atmosphere that is expected to redraw the map of political alliances and determine the features of the next phase, including the personality of the next prime minister.
