On Sunday, Ibrahim al-Baghdadi, head of the Iraqi Economic Council, revealed that 268 investment opportunities were presented at the Iraq Investment Forum, held in Baghdad with the participation of 33 Arab and foreign countries and 270 companies.
Al-Baghdadi told Shafaq News Agency, “The forum is the first of its kind to be held in Iraq on this scale,” noting that “this came as a result of the great support from the Iraqi government and the interaction and participation of ministries, in addition to the many and qualitative opportunities presented at the forum, which amounted to 268 investment opportunities.”
He added, “168 investment opportunities have been presented in accordance with the investment law, while 100 more will be presented today,” indicating that “the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals has presented 100 investment opportunities through partnerships between Arab and foreign companies.”
He stressed that “33 countries participated in the Iraq Investment Forum, with the companies with the largest presence being: Chinese companies represented by more than 62 companies, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with more than 33 companies, followed by Turkey with approximately 32 companies,” noting the presence of a number of Jordanian companies and companies from the Gulf states, in addition to many European countries, from South and North America, and Japan.
