Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi announced on Saturday that the Development Road project was being presented as an investment opportunity at the Iraq Investment Forum. Al-Saadawi told the official agency, “The Iraq Investment Forum is an excellent opportunity to showcase investment opportunities to global and local investors,” noting that “the Ministry of Transport participated in this forum by presenting investment opportunities, the most important of which is the Development Road project.”
He added that “the development road is a major strategic project that enjoys direct support from Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani,” noting that “one of the objectives of this project is to diversify the Iraqi economy and reduce dependence on oil and gas.” Al-Saadawi continued, “This project represents a great opportunity for investors and private sector capital,” calling on “investors to actively participate in the project because of the investment opportunities it offers that no other project can provide.”
He also explained that “Türkiye is a key partner in the development road project, and there is ongoing communication between the Iraqi and Turkish Ministries of Transport, ongoing meetings between the two sides at the technical committee level, and memoranda of understanding.”
