The international ban on our naval fleet is about to be lifted.

The Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee expects the international ban on the national maritime fleet to be lifted and the Iraqi flag to be raised again on our ships. This is a result of the progress made by the Ministry of Transport on this issue, coinciding with the visit of the International Maritime Organization’s inspection committees to Iraq next October.
Zahra Al-Bajari, a member of the parliamentary committee, told Al-Sabah that “the committee asked the parliament’s presidency to include the Maritime Authority Law in the upcoming sessions or to allocate a session to vote on it before the inspection committee’s visit, as its approval is among the controls that must be implemented to lift the international ban on Iraqi ships and re-raise the national flag on them, in addition to implementing the requirements, instructions and controls of the International Maritime Organization.”
